Nya insatser mot människohandel/New resources in the fight against human trafficking!

Svenska dagbladet skriver den 11 april 2013 att Regeringen ger länsstyrelsen i Stockholm uppdrag att på nationell nivå samordna arbetet mot människohandel där det inte enbart rör sig om prostitution utan även till exempel organhandel och tvångsarbete.

Vidare skriver Svenska dagbladet att:

“Barn som är offer för människohandel drabbas extra hårt. Enligt en tidigare utredning misstänktes 166 barn ha utsatts för människohandel under åren 2009–2011. En tredjedel av dessa barn var asylsökande. Till detta kommer att ett antal asylsökande barn försvinner varje år. Det finns en risk att vissa av dessa försvunna barn utnyttjas av människohandlare. Därför har regeringen särskilt pekat på behovet av att skydda barn. Förbättrad samverkan mellan berörda myndigheter ökar möjligheterna att tidigt upptäcka och identifiera barn som är utsatta för eller riskerar att utsättas för människohandel och barn som är indirekt drabbade av människohandel.”

Sverige tar ett till steg framåt! Bra! Ingen människa ska behöva utsättas för att användas som en vara! Ingen människa är till salu!

Swedish goverment wants to colligate numbers of authorities in new efforts to fight human trafficking, not only on the perspective on trafficking and prostitution but also forced labour and trade of organ.

During 2009-2011 it´s estimated that 166 children in Sweden where subjected to human trafficking. Children are at higher risk to be exposed to trafficking and it´s why the goverment feels it´s a high priority to coordinate authorities to be able in a early stage identify the children whom are exposed or at a high risk to be exposed to human trafficking.

One step forward in the fight to end the human trafficking. No one should be exposed to trafficking or used as a commodity!

Det lilla kan betyda så mycket!/Small things of great importance!

De saker som du kanske tycker är små kan vara stort för någon annan. Tänk inte på att allt du ska göra måste vara stort annars räknas det inte. Nej, tänk på hur de små sakerna du gör för någon annan, kanske en vän eller en främling kan förändra den personens situation. De små sakerna vi gör för någon kan växa till något stort.

The things you do maybe seem little or inconsiderable to you but for someone else it can mean more than you think. Do not always think that all things you do need to be spectacular otherwise it does not count . No,instead think about the tiny or small thing you do for a friend or a stranger can mean the world for them and it can change their situation. The small thing we do can grow and become larger than we ever could imagined.

Keep up the good work! You are needed in this world to spread happiness and hope to others!

Något nytt normalt!/Something new normal!

Idag är det normala att människor säljs som varor i en hänsynslös handel där barn så unga som fyra år används som sexslavar. Barn utnyttjas som billig arbetskraft eller som barnsoldater. Egen intressen går före människors liv. I konflikter världen över där människors liv skördas vägrar andra länder gå in och agera på grund av egna intressen. Människor tvingas till svält, saknar rent dricksvatten och blir sjuka på grund av det. Listan kan göras lång men sammanfattas att människans värde hålls inte högt längre. Människans värde bör och ska vara okränkbart. Jag önskar att vi ska vända sättet att se på människor. Att varje människa är unik och värdefull och ska inte utnyttjas eller användas för sin egen vinst. Det finns många personer där ute som redan gör beundransvärda saker och kämpar för människors lika rätt och värde. Vi behöver bli fler. Att det nya normala är att varje barn får rätten att gå i skolan och äta sig mätt, att varje människa ska var fri och inte behöva utnyttjas som en vara. Att varje människa ska få vara frisk, fri från svält,en plats att kalla sitt hem,ha tillgång till rent dricksvatten och att få vara trygg. Än en gång kan man skriva en lång lista men sammanfattningsvis är att varje människa ska ha rätt till överlevnad, ett liv i frihet och respekt. Nu är det hög tid för något nytt normalt- att vi bryr oss om varandra och att en människas värde respekteras högt!

Today, it’s normal that people are sold as commodities in a reckless trading, where children in the age of four years are used as sex slaves. Children are exploited as cheap labor or as child soldiers. Private interests take precedence over human life. In conflicts around the world human lives are destroyed because other countries refuse to step in and act because they have private intresest in the country. People are forced to starvation, lthey ack clean drinking water and get sick because of it. The list goes on but summarized the human value is not kept high any longer. Human value should and must be inviolable. I wish that we should turn the way of looking at people. That each person is unique and valuable and should not be exploited or used for others profit. There are many people out there who are already doing admirable things and fighting for equal rights and value. We need to add more people to it, more people who fight for human rights worldwide. I hope that together we can reverse our way of looking at people. I want to see something new normal. The new normal is that every child get the right to go to school and enough food to eat, that every human should be free and not sold into human trafficking. That every human should have food enough,a place to call their home, clean drinking water, be healty and safe. Once again, you can write a long list but in summary, is that every person should have the right to survival, a life of freedom and respect. Now it’s the time for something new normal- that we care about each other and that a human´s value is highly respected!

Att vara barn/To be a child

Artikel 31 i Barnkonventionen säger att ;varje barn har rätt till lek, vila och fritid.(källa; unicef.se)

Idag är det många barn som måste arbeta hårt många timmar per dag utan någon möjlighet till att gå till skolan eller leka precis som varje barn har rätt till att göra. Låt oss kämpa för att alla barn ska få rätten till en värdig barndom.

Article 31 (Leisure, play and culture): Children have the right to relax and play, and to join in a wide range of cultural, artistic and other recreational activities. (source; http://www.unicef.org)

Today many children work many hours a day with no possibility to go to school or have the time to play just as a child should be able to do. Let us fight for the right of every child.

The president of the world bank visits Stockholm, Sweden.

Världsbankschefen Jim Yong Kim besökte Stockholm och diskuterade med biståndsminister Gunilla Carlsson och finans minister Anders Borg kampen mot världsfattigdomen. Där tillväxt i utvecklingsländer är en viktig nyckel i frågan. Världsbankchefen pratar om att göra allt för att reducera antalet människor som lever i fattigdom.

The president of the world ,Jim Yong Kim visited Stockholm and discussed the fight against world poverty with the minister of development, Gunilla Carlsson and minister of finance, Anders Borg. Growth in developing countries is an important key in the question. The president of the world bank talks about doing everything that is possible has to be done to reduce the number of people living in poverty.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

Hej alla underbara läsare där ute!

Jag har inte varit riktigt kry de senaste dagarna så jag spenderar min tid med att ta det lugnt för att återhämta mig. Det har gett mig mer tid för att läsa, se på nyheterna och blogga. Syriens konflikt är en av de konflikter vi får följa via nyheter här i Sverige. Och idag talade de om vilka som drabbas värst av konflikten, barnen. Barnen står maktlösa i de politiska maktspelen,det uppror som pågår i länder, konflikter, hungersnöd och svält  som pågår i världen.

På Rädda Barnens hemsida finner jag en historia om lilla Amar och hennes familj som tvingats fly från våldet i Syrien.

“Jag trodde jag skulle drunkna när vi korsade floden” säger Amar.

De bor numer i Libanon, i ett kallt klassrum. Regn läcker in från taket och kall luft blåser in genom de trasiga fönsterna. Den första tiden har varit svår för dem, i skolan blev de diskriminerade och retade för att de var flyktingar.

Men tack vare en hjälpinsats från Rädda Barnen har de fått hopp. De får återuppta sina studier. De har inte bara fått stöd att få studera utan de har även fått nya kompisar. Källa: Rädda Barnen

I allt mörker finns det alltid ett ljus. Ett ljus som kan sprida hopp till de som har de tufft. Mitt i all tumult, i allt elände finns det människor som kämpar för barns rättigheter. Vi får inte låta oss drunkna i allt det mörka vi ser, vi måste fokusera vår blick på det goda som görs och det hopp och ljus som sprids i allt elände.

Hi all the wonderful readers out there!

I have not been so well the past few days so I spend my time to rest so that I may  recover myself. That have given me more time to read, watch the news and keep up the writing on the blog. Syria’s conflict is one of the conflicts we follow through the news here in Sweden. And today they talked about who are the most affected by the conflict, the children. Children are powerless in the political power game, the insurgency, conflict, famine and starvation going on in the world.

I found a article at Save the Childrens web page about a girl named Amar. It´s a article about Amar and her family who have been forced to leave Syria beacuse of the conflict.

“I thought I was going to drown when we crossed the river” said Amar, 10 years old.

Amar and her family fled Syria and crossed the border to Libanon to find a save place to live. They now live in Libanon in a cold classroom, the rain is leaking into the room and the broken windows do not keep the wind out. It has been a hard time for them leaving their home. The children was discriminated at school and teased for beeing refugees.

But thanks to a relief effort from Save the Children, they have hope. They are given support to study and not have they only received support to study, but they have also made new friends. Source; Save the Children, Sweden

Despite the darkness their is always light in this world. A light that spreads hope to people in despair.In the middle of all the misery there is people fighting for the rights of the children. Let us not drown in all the misery we see because we need to focus on the hope and light that is spread and all the good things that are made to make a better living for thoose in need.

Martin Luther King once said: Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

Hej kära läsare!

Det har varit lite tyst här i bloggen då jag har haft fullt upp med jobb och besöka vänner i södra Sverige under sommaren. Nu börjar hösten knacka på dörren inom kort och jag har en spännande nyhet att berätta för er så stay tuned!

Jag hittade den här sidan och jag fastnade för den. För det är verkligen konceptet tillsammans kan vi skapa förändring och med att göra små saker kan vi skapa stora förändringar. Ensam är stark men tillsammans är vi starkare! Så är du med imorgon? Låt oss göra ett statement att det är dags för förändring, vi behöver med medmänsklighet runt omkring oss. Det är en bra utmaning som kan starta något positivt. För varje dag kan vi göra små saker som kan skapa stor förändring för en annan människa runt omkring oss.

The struggle for clean water / kampen för rent vatten

This is Roses story.

On the dry, rocky path that leads to the well walks Rose, a tiny girl with slender arms and legs. On her feet she has easy beach slippers,on her head she wears a large plastic bucket filled with water, which ways at at least 20 kg weighs. She carries it all the way home. When you see Rose balancing the heavy bucket you have to wonder how she does it.

Rose does not give up because she is stronger than other twelve-year-old girls or because she finds it fun to carry water. She is driven by necessity. She must do it because she has no other choice. Because she and her family need water to drink, clean, and cook with. It is a heavy and time-consuming task that takes a heavy toll on the body, but Rose does not complain.

– Everyone in my house has to work hard, she explains. My uncles, aunts, father, mother and siblings are doing other things. They work on the farm, collect firewood, or carry things to the market.  We have to help each other if we are to eat. I carry water. It’s my job.

Rose gets up early in the morning to go to the water pump, before school starts at eight. The next walk will be at lunch, right after she has eaten. Finally, she makes one more trip after school, before she sits down to study before the sun sets.

What would a well in Jeanton mean to you?

“I would have more time to study. I want to become a teacher.”

Balanserar 20 kilo på huvudet

På den torra, steniga stigen som leder till brunnen går Rose, en tanig flicka med smala armar och ben. På fötterna har hon enkla strandtofflor, på huvudet bär hon en stor plasthink fylld med vatten. Minst 20 kilo väger den, hela vägen hem igen. När man ser Rose balansera den tunga hinken undrar man två saker: Hur orkar hon? Och: Hur orkar hon?

Sliter på kroppen

Rose orkar inte för att hon är starkare än andra 12-åriga flickor, eller för att bära vatten är särskilt roligt. Rose orkar för att hon måste. För att hon och hennes stora familj behöver vatten att dricka, tvätta sig och laga mat med. Det är en tung och tidskrävande uppgift som sliter hårt på kroppen, men Rose klagar inte:

Alla arbetar hårt

– Alla i mitt hus måste arbeta hårt, förklarar hon. Mina fastrar, mostrar, pappa, mamma och syskon gör andra saker. Arbetar på jordbruket, hämtar ved eller bär saker till marknaden till exempel. Alla hjälps åt för att vi ska få mat. Jag bär vattnet, det är min uppgift.

Vill bli lärare

Första vändan till vattenpumpen går Rose tidigt på morgonen, innan skolan börjar klockan åtta. Nästa promenad blir på lunchen, direkt efter hon ätit. En sista vända blir det efter skolan, innan hon sätter sig ner och läser läxor den sista stunden innan solen går ner.

Vad skulle en brunn i Jeanton betyda för dig?

“Jag skulle få mer tid att studera. Jag vill bli lärare.”

925 million people are chronically undernourished

884 million people lack access to improved drinking water

2,5 billion people lack access to improved sanitation

2 billion people lack regular access to essential medicines

1 billion lack adequate shelter

1,6 billion lack electricity

796 million adults are illiterate

215 million children are child laborers

18 million people die each year due to poverty related causes.

Behind every number there is a human being who is valued and loved. When it´s put in numbers it can be hard to grasp the full extent of the situation, but even though we cannot understand fully what is happening all over the world, we must still focus on what we can do. Yes, the reality is harsh and cruel, but you can find a place where you can personally make a change. If you help just one person, the numbers will be reduced, and more importantly, that one person will be given the chance at a better life.

Do not give up on doing good. Mother Teresa said, If you can´t feed a hundred then just feed one.

Let us see the person behind every statistic!
